SHEIN X - Kid’s capsule collection

The SHEIN X program allows emerging designers to create their own mini capsule collection of 8-10 exclusive designs. My illustrations were inspired by long summer days, childhood, the circus, and seaside villages in Spain. Two of my designs were selected for the global launch of the campaign and featured in their promotional video.

Research and inspiration

For this children's capsule collection I was given the freedom to choose the theme and color palette. After conducting extensive research on design trends for the Spring-Summer 22 season. I created my illustrations inspired by the circus theme, outdoor picnics, and long summer nights playing outside with friends.

Trend forecasting reports

Some of the websites that offered me great insights into color, print, and lifestyle trends that I used to create my mood boards are:

Sketching

I had a lot of fun with this step of the process. I sat at our craft table with my two little girls and a bunch of craft materials, and we started to create, letting our imagination do its thing.

Tech pack, samples, and wait

After my pattern designs were approved by the project team, I had the opportunity to select the clothing pieces that I wanted to be printed for the collection. Once I submitted the tech packs and approved the samples for manufacturing it was time to wait for the launch of the campaign!!
